The FSC and FSS will jointly host International Organization of Securities Commissions(IOSCO) board meeting on February 11, 2015. IOSCO is a securities-related international organization with more than 200 member agencies from 120 countries. The IOSCO closely coordinates with the G20 and FSB to deal with issues related to global financial regulation.
This time in Seoul, more than 100 high-profile figures from the securities supervisory authorities of 30 member countries are expected to discuss ways for financial market stability and long-term sustainable growth for three days starting from February 11. At the meeting, FSC Chairman Shin Je-Yoon will stress the importance of close international coordination and cooperation centered by the IOSCO to successfully and efficiently respond to potential risks such as stagnant growth.
The FSC and FSS expects that successful IOSCO board meeting in Seoul will be an opportunity to raise Korea’s national status as a global standard setter.
The next board meeting will take place in London on June 15, 2015.
