Since its launch in March 2016, total ISA balance reached 2.5 trillion won, among which trust-type ISAs account for 28.5% and bank ISAs take up 71.5%.
Number of ISAs with balance of less than 10,000 decreased 33% whereas ISAs with balance between 10,000 to 100,000 won increased significantly by 70%.
It was found out that financial consumers at their 40s favored ISA most as a financial instrument to increase their wealth.
However, when it comes to average amount of money put into ISAs, it turned out that the 60s and above invested largest amount of money, more than 6 folds that of the 20s.
As time passes, we expect number of ISAs and monthly savings will grow at a slower pace but average balance per account will continuously increase.
